Sheila Schmitz

I work in my yard where I have plenty of room to throw paint around. Outside in the weather I feel the cycles of the seasons and see firsthand nature’s miraculous acts of growth and regeneration.
The humble seed pod in particular has captured my attention with its simple design cradling or spring- loading the next versions of itself in neat rows.
Painted or etched edges and lines bring a sense of architecture to the works, suggesting that we also can live in balance and abundance with other life.
We must decide to do so.
